From our humble beginnings to the high-quality insulated dog houses we offer today, each milestone represents a chapter in our story. But our vision doesn’t stop there. Who We Are and the Challenges We Faced
My name is Ranko, and together with my partner Nina, we run a dedicated American Staffordshire Terrier kennel. We currently care for eight Amstaffs, and through our daily experience, we’ve come to understand the unique challenges of housing strong, energetic dogs. This firsthand insight inspired us to seek better, more durable solutions—and ultimately led to the creation of DT Dog House, where we combine our knowledge and passion for dogs in every product we design.
Although our dogs are primarily indoor companions—especially during the colder months—we’ve had to carefully plan and build safe, secure outdoor spaces to meet specific needs. During mating season, for instance, dogs must be separated. Training sessions require structured outdoor areas. Raising litters demands secure environments. And during long work hours, having reliable outdoor shelters ensures our dogs remain safe, comfortable, and protected. These very real needs pushed us to go beyond indoor living and develop our flagship product: the insulated, indestructible, and one-of-a-kind DT Dog House.
While Nina manages Double Trouble Dog, an online shop offering custom collars, leashes, and premium dog gear, my main focus is on crafting DT Dog Houses. Living with multiple powerful dogs has given us deep insight into the needs of responsible dog owners—and we use that experience to design smart, practical, and long-lasting housing solutions.
Though our signature product is the DT Dog House, we now offer a complete range of living solutions for dogs:
- Outdoor solutions: insulated dog houses, raised outdoor beds, launchers, and accessories
- Transport solutions: secure aluminum transport boxes and travel gear
- Indoor comfort: indoor crates, orthopedic beds, cushions, and VetBeds
- Specialized breeder equipment: safe, functional solutions for raising litters

WE HAD A PROBLEM
No more Chewed-Up Wooden Dog Houses
At first, we used traditional wooden dog houses, but they didn’t last—one was chewed up within a week. Custom plywood houses were more durable, but they still absorbed moisture, developed strong odors, and required constant repairs. Humidity caused bacterial growth, while winter needed better insulation and summer required better ventilation. We realized there was no truly durable, weather-resistant dog house on the market.

Cracking the Code: How We Solved the Impossible
After experimenting with various materials and designs, we created the ultimate solution: insulated panel dog houses. These houses are not only durable and chew-resistant, eliminating the problem of destroyed shelters, but they also offer excellent insulation.
The houses are moisture-resistant, which prevents mold, odor buildup, and bacterial growth, making them much easier to maintain. Cleaning is also a breeze thanks to the roof, which can be opened and secured with a bar for easy access. You can even use a hose for quick cleaning.
Additionally, our houses feature elevated legs for better airflow, protective foil for safety during manufacturing, and extra foam between the panels for a perfect seal. Each house also has a latch on each side to ensure a tight, secure fit. These small details truly make a difference, providing a product that’s not only functional but built to last.
We’ve developed a product that meets the needs of dog owners who want a combination of quality, longevity, and convenience for their pets. With DT Dog Houses, we no longer worry about replacing dog houses every year. Our insulated designs are built to withstand the strength of our Amstaffs and stand the test of time.
