While we offer various sizes for different breeds, remember that not every dog fits neatly into one category—individual dogs may vary in size, even within the same breed. That’s why we recommend choosing the house based on your dog’s back height and general size.
Why Too Big Isn’t Always Best
While it may seem tempting to choose the largest possible dog house for extra comfort, a house that’s too big can actually be less comfortable for your dog. When a dog house is excessively large, it can be harder for your dog to maintain warmth, especially during colder weather. Dogs rely on the warmth of their own body to keep cozy, and an oversized space can make it more difficult for them to feel protected and secure.
So, while choosing a size that’s too small can be uncomfortable, a slightly smaller, more fitting house can often provide the perfect balance between security and comfort, helping your dog stay warm and happy in any season.
